Went to replace a front left bearing yesterday and got quite a surprise. Seems the days of replacing the bearing race and oil seal are long gone. For the Liberty you have to replace what is called the Spindle Hub Bearing Assembly. For each side the cost went from $156.00 to $347.00 each, depending on which auto parts store I called. I ended up with a SKF model BR930325 (Checker Auto), OUCH..

YIKES! I can remember many summer afternoons of putting new bearings in family vehicles; pulling the wheels, getting the bearings and packing them with grease, then putting everything back together. Guess the days of do-it-yourself car maintenance are slowly but steadily dwindling down :(

$156, that's cheaper than I can buy them, where did you pick them up, and did the counter guy make a mistake!?

Al

The $350 price is closer to retail for the bearings.

Yes, please tell me more about this $156 price. I work at autozone, and I was appalled at the $347.00 price per hub assembly. YIKES!
