hey everyone my name is scott gardner i recently bought a 2006 jeep liberty crd love the jeep. now for the bad i don't know where to post this so ill try here and see if anyone can point me in the right direction. the other day i started up the jeep about 40 out and started great turned lights on selected radio station put it in reverse and bang just died. tried to start is up and nothing will just keep cranking. read around and people suggested fuel filter needed changed so did that filled up the new filter with diesel and sure enough tried to prime it and it like the primer won't prime or build pressure when i open up the release valve nothing happens no air no fuel if i leave the valve open and hit the primer then air comes out but with it closed not building pressure. so my guess is the fuel housing is broke. so if the housing is broke where can i buy them? auto zone and oriellys cant even find the part number and dealerships cost an arm and a leg. and if there are any other suggestions im open to anything. also all fuses look to be fine.

Come ask your question in the CRD Love that talk section. Lots of knowledgeable folks there. While you are there, read Sir Sams Noob Guide.

But brief on the fuel system. Stock CRDs have no in tank lift pump in a system designed to have one. Quick connects are known to leak air because the injector pump sucks it in. Also the stock fuel filter head is know to have issues with air being sucked in also.

Welcome and hope we can solve your issues.

Scott - the CRD....Love that torque is the best section for Diesel questions
however when you changed the filter - did you get the old O-ring out?
it doesn't come out easily - and the filter will tighten up - but it'll leak air a lot
