Post subject:  tool/emergency kit

I've been looking at putting together a basic tool kit and/or emergency kit for each of our three vehicles. My first thought is to use the spare space under the back seats of the XJ/KJ where it would be out of the way and out of site to potential thieves. Considerations... My ability to significant troubleshooting/repairs is limited.

Any thoughts?

Tools
adjustable wrenches - a couple of sizes
pliers
vice grips
channel locks
needle nose pliers/wire cutter
flat head/philips screwdriver
socket set - i'm not sure if this has value with the other tools
utility knife
zip ties
duct tape
rags
quart of oil
parachute cord
tie downs
gloves

emergency supplies
gallon of water
lighter
basic first aid kit
wool blanket
sun block - does this survive in a hot car well?
food? i'm not sure on this, it's very hot in the summer and food might not survive

Multimeter and extra fuses. You could always buy a couple of MRE's from an army supply store.

Regular sun block and a car don't mix the spray can stuff does. And some wire a few different crimp style connector and a stripper crimp tool.

Only saw this topic now.
In addition to the Multimeter and spare fuses and wire, when I go on a long trip I carry my Samsung Galaxy 7 inch Tablet in the netting in the cargo bay.

I have saved on it all the Service Manuals, OBDII Codes and Wiring Diagrams for my Jeep on it...I have had several wiring problems before but fortunately not far from home and my computer then. :)
