Im planning on replacing all the door speakers this weekend on my 04 liberty Limited.. Now im a lil confused on the what i have in my jeep.. Now i have not taken the panel off and actually looked at the speakers. But i have 4 door speakers and dash tweeters..

I picked up two pair of 3way Kenwood 6.5" and a adapters to fit them in the door.. Now i have already replaced the HU with a Kenwood KDC-HD552U, and that made the sound in the car bearable. (factory radio was just terrible)

How do i tell which speakers i have without pulling them, if there is a way?

Now for the confusion i have read conflicting statements on this, but since i have the 6 speakers is that suppose to be the infinity system? Now i would have thought it would say infinity one the inside of the car if that was the case, but i could be wrong.. So if these are the infinity speakers i dont need the amps attached but if i remove the amp completely will i lose my dash tweeters without rewiring? I am planning to make this change this weekend when its a lil warmer outside here in Michigan. But i wont have a ton of time, so rewiring will turn this project into a complete time issue. I would prefer to keep the dash tweeters and replace those later down the road..

Do I have to rewire the rear door speakers at the amp level?

What have you done with your speakers? any quick rewiring ideas in case i do have to rewire?

Thanks in advance for any help, im new to the forum and new to the jeep family, i got my 04 limited about 2 weeks ago

Yes, you should have the amps/cross overs mounted to the front speakers. If you remove them, you'll lose the tweeters in the dash.

The rear speakers are powered off of the amps in the doors. So you have four wires going in to the front doors and 4 going out (two tweeters and two rear speakers).
