The reflective side markers on the front bumper how does one go about removing them?

Image

Do I need to pop off the clips on the wheel well lining to access the marker? I only looked for a second and wasn’t able to get underneath the Lib, so this topic may just be in vain. But if there is some mystic process I need to follow, could you point me in the right direction.

Also is the only thing holding the lens for the turn indicator the screw by the grill?

The screw on the far left (right for the other lens) for the turn indicator.

my goal is to get it too look like this (not my jeep, but same color combo)

For the side marker, you must remove the fender clips, then behind the lighted reflector is a clip the slides out, the reflector will just pop out.
For the Blinker, its just the one torx screw, a tab on the other side of the blinker slides into the bumper.

What exactly was the problem getting the side markers sprayed? I used the green painters tape designed for use on vehicles and didn't have any issues.

5 coats seems like a lot for the turn signals. They've got to be jet black. Pics?

1st I couldn't get them off, so I decided to leave them on. I washed them to get off the road junk, then did a light sanding so the VHT would have something to stick to, just like I did the turns, then I did my first coat, lightly, waited 7 minutes, second coat, a little heavier but nothing too dumb, waited 10 minutes third coat sprayed both of them and went inside. After 15 minutes or so I returned and found the VHT had ran down the markers, and onto the bumper, looked like utter crap, so I tore the tape off, and washed the VHT off the lens and tried to clean up what had dripped, needed to use the 2000 grit I had to get it off the bumper. I got the lenses cleaned and you can’t see any on the bumper. The turn indicators aren’t completely black, but pretty dark. Once I find my camera cables I’ll post the whole process.

Man, that does sound like a mess. Think you'll give it another shot?

For future reference, Goo-Gone takes off the Niteshade very easily.

Yeah, going to get better tape and go as lightly as I can, I'm pretty sure I got to anxious and didn't let them dry enough after I washed em
