I'm just using a drop in K & N panel filter. Had a lot of fun with the California rains, no problem. I even removed the splash guard from in front of the snorkle, on purpose, still no problem.

I bought that same exact one. the install was a little frusterating. there wasnt enought hose, the hose clamps were too small. there is a bead of weld that has not been grinded down. if i wanted to grind it, i have to remove the whole system and go throught the entire re-installation again. in the performance point of view the system is very good (i would think the k&n is better because it costs over 200 dollars). you will notice the difference right away.

mine:

it looks like the one you got doesnt have that weld

So it did fit in the end? I'm thinking of an FIPK or something.

mine wasn't the best install. the black hose didn't want to fit and the blue one was a bit short. i had to buy some hose clamps for those hoses. the mounting bracket, i had to "jerry rig". other than that, i haven't had a problem. i am just worried about hitting some water and it getting into the air filter.

I went w/ a Green drop in filter. It's similar to a K&N, just a little thicker w/ better filtration. Seat dyno doesn't indicate a huge change, but I'll never have to buy another one and I'm happy w/ it.

I found a way to get the cone filter setups to work really well. :D

Image

There's not $150-$200 worth of difference between a drop in, and a cone unless you a lot more, colder air to it.
