Where/how did you run the wiring into the Jeep for roof rack/basket lights? Also, any idea on the diameter of the mounting hole that's required? Thanks! |

Mines ran down under the door seal into the engine bay on the passenger side. can't see it, works great and no leaks from holes Removing them soon, tired of tree limbs hitting the lights and moving them. LEDs on the bumper will work better |

Tom If you are looking for a good home for your lights I would gladly give them one lol Sent by using tin cans and string |

I found this picture via a thread from May 2010. Hopefully this helps. LibertyFever wrote: The black wires are the stock Hella500 lamp wiring harness and the red wire is a 14 gauge return ground line from the lamps and they held up well to the weather. Covering them with black electrical tape hides them and keeps them from flapping. I used two relays to control the lamps and ran a single ground line for them back to my dash. It works well. ![]() |

Drilled a hole in the roof, put a gromet in, ran the wires through the cabin, sealed the hole with some rtv and its been good for 2 years no leaks. |

I use 14 gauge, 3 conductor extension cords to keep things tidy. 1/2 inch hole drilled in the front clamshell, and another drilled inside the clamshell thru the roof to feed said extension cord into the cabin. ![]() ...the same for the pair in the back.... 16 gauge extension cord, thru the clamshell and into the cabin. ![]() Roof holes are sealed with silicon, just in case. Being inside the roof rail clamshells, chances of water entry are minimal anyway. Wiring touted to auxillary fuse panel at the knee panel. ![]() Only two 6 gauge wires (red for 12 volts, green for ground) from the auxillary panel routed through the firewall to the engine compartment (battery). Used existing grommeted pass throughs for these wires. Yeah..... it's probably overkill..... but I only ever have to do it once. AND, having everything fused with easy accesss to said fuses help with maintenance and troubleshooting should the need arise. |

Still the most impressive wiring I've seen! |
