Wow, they sure did change their mind since April 10.

"Sorry, we do not have any plans to offer a header application for the Jeep Liberty Thank you for checking with us."

They put a similar post on JeepForum.com back in June. I sent an email to find out more.

The deal was, they keep the Jeep for 2 weeks to "prototype products on your Jeep." After they finish, they give it back stock. About 30-45 days later, when the products go into production, you bring it back and they install their headers and exhaust system at no charge.

It didn't seem to me like such a hot deal, save maybe a grand, but: 1) I loose my new Jeep for TWO WEEKS; 2) you probably sign something that holds them harmless if the Jeep gets scratched, dented, or screwed up in any other way; 3) if DC finds out about the "experimentation," your engine warranty is history; 4) once the headers are on, my dealer would probably use it as an excuse to avoid warranty repairs anyway.

If it was my TJ :?:, but definately not my brand new KJ.

Actually the Magnessun Moss act doesn't allow them to not honor the warranty unless they can prove that modification caused the failure. Then they don't have to cover that incident, but doesn't mean they can void the warranty.
