Let me start out by saying that this is not a "bought from dealer" install. This is literally a factory install. I rebuilt a 2002 liberty limited with a bad motor using a rolled 2002 liberty renegade as a donor. The limited had the hideous tan interior in it, and I was installing the lightbar anyways, so out came the dash. When I reinstalled everything, I used the Renegade dash harness for plug and play use of the light bar wiring and switch. I added the missing wire for the light bar to the Limited engine harness and pinned it in to the appropriate spot in the engine bay fuse box and the approprate spot on the bulkhead connector. All computers and the cluster installed in the jeep are from the Limited. If I use the gauges out of the Limited, no roof light indicator If I use the gauges out of the Renegade, I get a roof light indicator that works appropriately Fog light indicators work with both gauge clusters. Obviously as the light bar works great, and the Renegade cluster works when installed, the issue is in the Limited gauge cluster. Any ideas? |

If it in any way, shape, or form had to do with a lightbar kit, it is non-pertinent to what my issue is. My issue is specifically involving the gauge cluster itself. The BCM and wiring are all good to go. There is absolutely no issue with anything except the fact that the light in the cluster that belongs in the vehicle does not turn on, but I can swap in any of my Renegade clusters and it works great. |

My 2002 circuit diagram does not show a "roof light" indicator in the cluster circuitry at all. Likewise the description of the cluster in the Service manual makes no mention or description of such an indicator in the cluster. Maybe this indicator only got fitted in later models...specifically the Renegade? I know that the Renegade only came out here to SA a few years after I bought my 2002 CRD and the Renegade was the first (and only) model to sport the roof light-bar! Does this light come on when you turn the ignition ON? Does it come on when you do the cluster test by holding in the odometer reset while turning the ignition ON? In other words...is this LED actually fitted into place on the cluster with the appropiate symbol on the cluster face? ![]() |

That would be the first step. ![]() |

There is an LED in it, I think. Both clusters I've had apart had both had every LED What is the cluster test? |

nvm, it's just like my cherokee. Got it, all lights work, it is there. |

obviously still doesn't work with roof light on, though. programming I imagine. |

I know you said you tried it with the renegade, and it works, but... I'm not sure if the 2002 is different from my 2007 in regards to the programming of the light, maybe someone will know the exact answer, but on my 2007, all I had to do was put a ground wire in pin 19 of the BCM. ![]() ![]() Have you tried to just directly ground it, bypassing the switch? Maybe the switch/wiring is faulty? Eliminate all other variables and just see if it turns on when it is directly grounded. ![]() |

the dash harness is out of the renegade, and the wire is pre-existing as a result. The issue is specifically with the Limited cluster in and of itself. Everything works right when using the Renegade cluster, but the mileage is innacurate to the body, and the dealer says they can't legally reflash a cluster that they didn't source. |
