I've seen a few "profinish-proglass" hoods on libertys, and think they look great. does anyone know where I can find one?

the profinish-proglass website is "currently being updated", and on pieces of their old website that i've seen don't have any products section or anything...

thanks!

edit: corrected 'prodrive'

If you are talking about the mini scoop on the hood, then that was a special-made hood for SEMA, if I remember correctly.

I think you mean Profinish-Proglass. You would have to call them and talk to Terry. He made his for a 2003 SEMA show. I had to wait over 6 months for him to do my Jeep. He had the supercharged 5.7 Hemi Ram with N2O and grabber hood that Mario Andretti drove on Trucks! there. His is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. Those are 265/70R17 Mickey Thompsons on 17X9" rims. Here's the only 2 I know of. Mine and Terry's.

I don't know that Terry will be very receptive to a group buy. On one of the other forums a dozen people said they wanted them. However, I was the only person who purchased one. I had to wait for him to have enough left over fiberglass from a big job to make a run of just one of them.

yeah that's the one, i mistyped or misread or whatever

well, in that case, i guess it'll be very hard to get and not really realistic (especially on my budget) for me to get, but thanks.

Terry makes cowls, shakers, and grabbers too. He also does carbon fiber. His work is incredible. Most people never even notice his Liberty is a 2 door. When the hard top is on it, they don't even notice that it's a convertible. All they notice is how big it is with the 32" tires. If you really want a cowl, and aren't on a budget, I would talk to him.

carhoods.com has a hood for a KJ also, even though they list it for a '97(or '98) to present KJ.

Composite-Tech Hoods made in Florida. Whether you are looking to draw more air into your engine, in need of clearance, or yearning for a cool new look, this fully lined Composite Tech-Hood is just what you've been looking for. The high quality inner liner fully supports the outer skin, providing a show worthy inner structure which is smooth, strong and ready for prep and paint.
The surface is Cormat reinforced, insuring it is both strong and straight. A smooth sandable type gellcoat is used for the finish so its a snap to prep for paint. Steel anchors allow for use with your stock hinges and latch mechanism.

all that money, and the carhoods still needs work to become functional. Its come up a few times in the 4x2 performance section. I like the look and am looking for ways to get more cold air to the intake, but not at $1k+ when all is said and done.

Actually, the Profinish-Proglass is functional. I got over a 15% increase in milage at highway and interstate speeds when we added mine. All you need is one of the cone intake kits like the the K&N or AEM, but I would recommend a Fastman throttle body too. The hood is completely bolt on. Just harder to get. It's not a true ram air, but it brings in a ton of cold air. Ram air really won't bring you a lot, and you have water issues to deal with. At 80 mph, with a well engineered ram air, you're only looking at 0.5 psi creating an extra 2-3% more power. That's why I use a 60 amp electric supercharger to assist mine at full throttle. It creates around 1 psi of boost which is similar to 160 mph, or about 4-6% more power, and I don't have any water problems.
