For some reason, the rear glass is not opening when I pull the tailgate handle. The only way to get the glass open is too use button on the keyfob. It's becoming quite the PIA to deal with and I know it's just a matter of time before the glass is shattered from trying to open the tailgate quickly.

Looking for any suggestions on this issue.

There is a small micro-switch inside the tailgate handle which pops the glass open as you slightly pull on the handle.
It is a known problem that this switch gets water inside it which causes it to fail.

It is easy to get a new switch and replace it.
