I've been hearing some road noise when driving the KJ. I can't pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from. It's a humming sound, almost like wheel bearings going bad or a bad alignment or the sound that mud tires would make. Anyway, the humming sound happens when driving under load, but when I let off the accelerator to coast, the sound seems to dissipate. As soon as I touch the accelerator again, the humming sound comes back. I don't know if I have a u-joint going bad or what. Anyway, it's a 2007 KJ with 40,000 miles on the odometer. Any thoughts?

How many kilometres on the tyres? They get noisy as they wear down, especially ATs.

I put the tires on 10,000 miles ago. It gets a 5 tire rotation every 3,000 miles. I don't think it's the tires since the humming sound dissipates when I let off the accelerator.

First things I always check with noises like that are:
Rear U-joints ( mine rusted up before 50,000 miles and felt fine but when I took them apart found them bad)
Right Side CV/ Intermediate shaft will make a similar noise at first
Rear CV on front driveshaft ( most times lots more miles than yours has though when they go bad)
Start with those
