Well, I screwed up...I put 1156 bulbs in my ARB's running light; they melted the lenses. This was the first time I'd replaced the running light bulb in my ARB's lights. One lens is just a bit distorted the other has a hole melted through it! I have metal gutter screen mesh in my grille, and I also covered the lights in the ARB when I put that in...Just enough coverage that I couldn't tell the bulbs were melting the lenses I guess, but it sure looked good!! The correct lens for these lights are for a Volkswagen Golf MK II, right? I know the CORRECT bulb is a 7506; however I have a pair of 1156 amber LED bulbs that I plan on putting in, they have a much lower profile and won't generate nearly as much heat. Does anyone know of a reason I shouldn't use the 1156 LEDs? I've found a set of "EURO" lenses that are clear with an amber insert to replace the lenses on my ARB. I've never had any issue with water getting inside of my lights like I'v seen other people have, but to be on the safe side I'm gonna make some gaskets for the new lenses, when they arrive...

The LED shouldn't be an issue.

Be aware that the lenses in ARB's are not D.O.T. approved in the U.S.

And also if you dont change out the relay the turn signals will flash at a faster rate.....no big deal

I think the ARB lenses are Volkswagen (don't remember the model - I'll add a link if I find it)

and there's at least one running around with LED's without issue - but he sealed everything it.
