Has anyone seen a safari roof rack that will actually fit inside the the side rails of a 2005 Liberty Renegade? I'd like to get a safari rack but I would like to keep the side rails on as well.

The problem is the roof rails run wider at the front than they do at the rear.
So unless building a custom rack, one end or the other will not be right against the stock rails
There are a few ways to have cross bars really low if interested

The cross bars might work. How would that work with the lower cross bars?

I haven't done it yet but my plan is to mount cross bars under the side rails.

What's the difference between a plain-vanilla roof rack and a Safari roof rack?

Name , if you look you'll find every company offers a " Safari " style roof rack
most times it has sides where some racks are flat. But then I've seen them called the same thing
They just like using Swahili words

What about U-Bolts around the rails coming in to meet the rack? That way you'd be able to adjust for width.
