So ive search, but when you install a new shaft do you connect it to the cv shaft then slide the whole assembly into the diff case? Or install them as separate pieces?

I've done it both ways before.
Not sure if there is aright or wrong way.

Make sure you put some grease on the splines. :2cents:

Either way will work, but I think your chances of accidentally damaging the axle seal are greater if you have the CV on there since it's just unwieldy, heavy, and harder to handle.
