I'd order one! Pm me details. I'd recommend half up front half at time of shipping or it's doesn't ship.. and add a no return policy. Custom, small runs etc..

Well I have been thinking of doing another run but here lies the issue
To make it really worth while I would want to do at least 8-10
Last time had 20 plus people who really really really wanted one
Then as time got closer I knew many would drop out.
So did a run of ten , after making them, some wanted a cheaper price, some wanted to do payments
Being a VERY small business I can't do that PLUS even OME/ARB does not take payments
then some were " well I want mine this way or that " Its the way it is, one style
In the end sold all but one, they paid some down and have been waiting OVER 19 months for the rest of their money
( suppose to pay within a month had prepaid half to be sure to get one )
So here I am today trying to decide if I want to go through the frustration again ! :banghead: :ROTFL:
I don't even have one for myself is the sad part :dizzy:
So are some really interested ??

GAWD, do I EVER commiserate with you, tommudd!! Most of my customers for the Hot Diesel Solutions Model 001 engine thermostat I developed walked away when they realized how expensive a properly designed part would cost. The members of this forum can be very fickle on occasion.

Call me, or send me your number, time zone and an appropriate time of the day to call you; we should talk. I think there may be a way to get these things made for less $$, and therefore attract more customers.

You are thinking of the Komodo Dragon rear bumper, right?

Best regards,

Would love to know how much it would cost to hold a spot in a production run if you ever do start to fabricate.

finances right now are in the negative, but i would be interested by December 2017 for a rear bumper, (as well as for TDF's HotDieselSolutions T-Stat Housing)

I assume these would have to ship by truck to Canada?

We are aware that you are not Rock Lizard Fabrications.

Those of us who want a Komodo Dragon Rear Bumper would like you to copy the general design and fabricate your own version of the Komodo. I contacted Rock Lizard at least three years ago, and they refuse to make any more K.D.R.Bs. What is frustrating is that they also refuse to sell the plans and schematic drawings so a guy can make his own.

Totally understand the frustration since RL doesn't build them any longer and will not sell the plans.
I wanted to do something totally different BUT the challenge becomes down to they all have to have some common / shared pieces.
Like rock rails etc only so many ways to build parts for the KJ that function/ fit and perform like I want them to
So its back to the garage and go through my stack of patterns
If people want a tire swing out etc. Lets get to work

Thanks TURBO-DIESEL-FREAK

Tom,

Could the bumper you had made allow a spindle for a swing out carrier for a tire on one side and/or accessory mount for whatever we can place on it for our needs?

I feel like people would gain somewhat more interest if their was that option.

I know I would be very interested, shops in Phoenix are really reasonable with prices for a custom but I'd be willing to support a custom batch.

Steve

That - essentially - is the Komodo Dragon Rear Bumper design.

Right, but everyone is asking for a RL when clearly Tom does not make one. I'm well aware of the RL bumpers from past, just suggesting that interest might be gained if a swing out option was added to the design Tom had put into a short production.
