Headlight protection

BlueFreedom, good work...That's pretty much what I'm working on. The difference is the lamp covers have a small band of metal holding the arc and everything together. I'm still trying to get a few minutes to get mine installed but it's coming... Now why can't Hella or someone make a set that would fit the Lib?

Parts:

Home Depot Chicken Wire - I painted bright silver (Rustoleum) so they're protected from rust. The clips I got at Ace Hardware, I believe they are wire/cable holders that have a hole for tacking into the wall (clear would have beeen perfect but they only came in black). I wrapped the clip around the mesh and put a stainless steel screw (about 3/4" length) into the area surrounding the headlight to fasten it.

They just fit inside the grill around the headlights but stick out about 3 inches or so. I figure with them sticking out, if she were to smack a post or something when she's mall crawilng it'll crush the screen first. (I hope she doesn't read this). Anyway, the wife likes them and it's her Jeep and I do what I'm told so...
