Ok i dont know what the deal is, but when I'm driving i feel a vibration comming from the front of my Jeep. And sometimes when I'm gonig slow it sounds almost like the brake pad is stuck on the rotor.....just the soundof it ..like taking to metal plates and sliding them back and forth on each other. It seems to be real loose on that side as well, When I lifted her up and spun the passenger front wheel forward it is comming from just under the motor (above the engine skid) I didn't take it off to look though. Is there some maintenance I have over looked? The Kj's got 46 k on her.

Any one else had this problem?

Could be a worn CV.

I was thinking that might be it too, but isn't a blown CV joint tipically affiliated with a loud "click click click" when taking corner and your wheel is turned? B/c that noise is not being made......? Any idea how to check the CV?

Oh and when I was under her it seemed to be more centered under the engine rather that by the wheel.....but when driving that side just fees real loos.....

Could be a CV or a bearing in the diff. Since you said it sounds like its coming from above the skid that what I would think it would be. Have you changed the oil in it? Been through any water or anything.

Well, the front diff doesnt really need to be changed as often as the book says(every 12k is what it says). But I would do it at least every 30k since you do not off road that much. The rear should be done more often, something like 20k is aight I would guess.

So yea, I would change the oil in those. I would do the tranny and tcase if you havent yet also.

Thanks for the heads up. I changed the tranny fluids, and the rear end about 2k miles ago...so those should be good. I guess I'll have the front diff oil change done this weekend. Think a Jiffy Lube will be able to get past the skid plate, and be able to do all that?

Nope, that skid must come off. The is a drain plug and a fill plug so be sure they know that. The cover does not need to come off.
