WOOOOOHOOOO
I got my tax return! And as it turns out my stock Goodyears are almost dead. I say 5k miles left, which by then my Jeep will have 50k miles. Not bad for the stockers, I did not think they would make it that far.

So this leads me to my list of cool stuff to buy.
I want to get:
Tires: I am leaning toward BFG A/T KO 245/75/16

With that I would like to get a lift. I don't think I can swing the cost of the Franken lift as of now. It seems to be one of better lifts out there.
It seems to be a proven lift, and I do believe you get what you pay for. Maybe in the future.....

Rusty's lift seems to be a nice alternative, but I am worried about the sagging of the springs over time, which I seem to read about more often than not on the forums.

I would go with a spacer lift, I do some moderate wheeling and I would like to get something good for wheeling.
So of course Daystar and such would work well. I will be staying away from, RRO lifts.

So if anyone wants to put in some input on what to buy, it would be appreciated. My budget is around $1000.

Thanks!!!

Save your money get the Frankenlift. IMO I didn't want to get into my suspension twice and at twice the cost where as if I waited a little while I could have the nicer of the two options. Same goes for tires you buy 5 tires your 1000 bucks is almost gone. Just my 2 pennies worth.

You have to get tires. No choice there. Go ahead and mark the needed money for those.....
1. What tires and what size. KO's are better off-road but less on-road happy. Revo's are better on-road but less off-road happy. Both are great tires. You must decide.
Size? If you get 245/75, you will need to get a lift. If your budget after the tires won't let you get a Frankenlift, then get the Rusty's. It hasn't sagged for me and I have done two Moab trips now. You won't be able to wear those new bigger tires w/o the lift (lots of rubbing and loss of turn ratio).

BFG TA/KO is a pretty expensive tire. If you are considering getting a spacer lift instead of a coil lift in order to get BFGs, I'd swap that around. Get cheaper (but still adequate) tires and a decent lift. Some people say that tires are more important, because of the safety. I say suspension is just as important, a good spring lift will behave better than a spacer on and offroad.

One way to save some dough is go with a cheaper tire. I have fallen in love with Mastercraft Tires (www.mastercrafttires.com). I have used the Courser A/T and love the on road handling and love the off road performance. I used them alot on the farm, muddy fields and trails galore. They also offer other styles in your size, even a MT. The A/T have a 50,000 mile treadwear warrranty. I got 4 tires 265/70/16 for $385 taxes, balance, mounting, and road hazzard out the door.

Ditto the cheaper tires route.

Get a spring lift (either one) and buy some tires that you dont have to pay extra for the name. The lift and even crappy tires will take you places a stock KJ and the best tires can't go. Ground clearance is the biggest drawback of the stock KJ.

I would not get the revos or BFG TA/KO, I would go yokohama geolanders. Good tire, good on-road, good off road, cheap.

With the lift I would go rustys. Most of the people you see talking about sagging have the arb front bumper and probably keep alot of crap in the jeep. Keep all of the extra crap out and you should be just fine.

Rustys: Around $500 give or take depending on shipping and who puts it on.

Tires: Only $100 a piece. So thats $500 with shipping UPS or $485 with fedex from Tirerack.com.
