not my area of expertise, just here to shed some items to check. does the cable move freely or does it act like its attached to the pads? could the springs and or shoes be worn down? those pads look really nasty! also, some degreaser my clean up those internals... |

They tend to rust up. Mine did the same. spent a few hours with some pb blaster and pliers to get them moving again. |

The pads for the Ebrake shoes are super thin to start with. I thought mine were toasted, and ordered a new pair, only to find they didn't come with much material anyway. |

I followed a driver once that was burning pads going up the park way in Virginia. kept flashing my lights honking. he eventually pulled over. said, ogh, that was why my rpms and engine temps were high. I laughed and left. |

they did it for a good 5 miles and never realized the white smoke behind them. pretty sure they and the transmission were shot after that ordeal. his rpms were sky high. what goes through peoples minds? hmmm, my engine is warmer then usual and my rpms are above 5k rpm going up hill. little Nissan. same hill for me was 3k avg. |

The brake lever that you pictured froze up in mine as well. I found it like that when i went to replace the axle seals. I coated it up in never seize and put it back together and it seems to work now. Mine was not near as bad off as the ones in the pictures. |
