Post subject:  Memorial Day Weekend...

Hey everyone, i'm heading up the Buffalo River in Arkansas and was just curious if anyone knew of any cool trails or whatnot that i might be able to do while up in that area. I'll be near the Arkansas-Missouri stateline for most of the weekend camping and canoeing with friends. Anyone have plans to be near there that weekend?

Well scratch that trip to the River....last night I totalled the Jeep when I fell asleep at the wheel and ended up head-on in a guardrail in the median of the interstate. I'm bruised and battered but nothing broken....airbag, seatbelt, and crumble zones all did there job thankfully...I'll get some pics this afternoon and post them on why you should own a Jeep Liberty for safety reasons. Have a good day everyone and don't forget to say "I love you" to those dearest to you before they go out the door...you never know when they might not be able to walk back through it. PEACE

~~Scott

Glad you are OK, send me the rear axle.

Did you have rock rails? I'd like to see how much they add to the safety.

I hit a guard rail that came to a point, so I would of hit something that looks kinda like the bottom of the double parantheses (). I hit it at an angle on my driver's side so that is why the damage is mainly on my side. I had some school books in the passenger seat, I was moving out of the dorm for the summer, and that is why the passenger side airbag did not go off. Insurance is probably going to cover all of it...I hope  So if that happens I'll see if they'll let me salvage any of it for personal use or if they'll want to keep it all and smash it at the dump (most likely what they'll do). I did keep my K&N air filter though...it is like new only has 320 miles gone through it (and that was one tank of city driving, I hadn't filled up again before the accident happened so luckily no gas went to waste).

Scott glad your OK.That is a true testament to the Safety aspect of the liberty. Several others have posted pics of accidents and as it stands right now " The Liberty Is One Tough Vehicle". There's a reason they say "Buckle up for safety".There was an accident locally here in Norfolk and they don't think anyone was wereing a belt two dead and one recovering..... Glad your doing fine..

Sorry you totalled it, glad you lived to tell us about it. If the insurance covers it do you plan on getting another KJ?
