We went from snow, to mud, to rocks and twisty trails today. Here are my initial Jeep KK thoughts.
1) It is no Wrangler.
2) The Command track system is loud, and annoying, but after numerous wheel in the air moments will attest, it works like a charm for open diffs. Pulled through any obstical we encountered that most likely would have needed a lot of momentum otherwise.
3) Sits WAY to low, as my front bumper, skid plates and tow hitch will attest to.
4) Ride is very nice, maybe a hair stiff, but comfortable.
Bought the Jeep as a camping/exploring Jeep while the Flat Fender is under the knife, and it should perform those dutys very well. A few inches lift and some meatier tires should cure any woes that i encountered today, although the factory Goodyear tires had very little traction issues.
Started the day attempting to reach Crown King via Senator Hwy in Prescott. The snow was tolerable for approx the first 15 miles, but soon turned too deep for my comfort level given the situation (lone vehicle, kids)
Went back around through Mayor and made it into Crown King with zero issues.
On the way out of town, decided to hit some trail offshoots that led to various unamed mine sites. Many of the trails are now in very poor condition, I'm estimating in a few years they will be unaccesible to most stock vehicles. Side by sides and modified Jeeps may be the only way to find them in the future.
