I have a 2002 jeep liberty with charging problems. It will start if jumped but once it's running the volts drop until it dies. So I pulled the alternator and battery and had them both tested at auto zone and they both passed. So I reinstalled them checked all connections and grounds but I get the same thing. Multimeter reads 12v at the battery after jump but drops until stall. Low on cash so would like to stay out of the shop if possible. Thanks for any help!

computer controls alternator output. look at pdf manual if you need diagram. http://www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/J ... Manual.pdf

looks like field wires go to computer. labled DG (dark green?) and WT/DB (white dark blue). they end up at pins 10 and 25 of the PCM.

Did they test the alt and battery just one time? My battery was showing good at first but when the clerk load tested it again it failed and was bad. It's probably time for a new alternator too, 13-14 years is a long run for an alternator.

From your post on the other site...have you looked into my suggestions?
