Hi everyone! Please don't tear me apart because I did search but I can't seem to find the answer to my question. I just bought a 2007 Liberty and it has the stock steel wheels. I am going to put a lift on it. It's 2.5 inches in the rear and 3 inches up front. I am going to keep the stock steel wheels. Question is what is the largest tire I can run with that setup? I am not opposed to using a 1 inch wheel spacer. Thanks in advance!!

First which lift are you using ? Full spring or spacer?
Next if spacer 245-70-16s
if full spring then 245-75-16s although you'll lose power and mileage of course

and no on the 1 inch spacers, least you can go is 1.25 inch which work ok with the lift although I never like to go with spacers

Spacers ?
Doesn't matter if off road or not, good full spring lift actually rides way better than stock ever did
with sagged springs and spacers stick with 245-70-16s

Yeah I know. I have lifted quite a few trucks in my day. I don't mind spacers with longer rear shocks. I had a few XJ's and one I did a full spring lift and one I just did spacers. To be honest, I liked the spacers better!

Lots of differences between the XJ and KJ, spacers just don't work on the KJ with the weak spring rate we have to deal with.
Most all who do a spacer style lift soon change them out to a full spring lift

Depends on budget
OME 927 / 948 combo with Bilstein shocks is usually the cheapest
Priced one out the other day for a customer , have to see what total was again
will find the estimate

I've been impressed with my full OME set up. I think it's about $1k, but it been a couple of years. It has held up to heavy towing pretty well.

Thank you for being so helpful. I think I am probably going to keep it factory ride height after all. I have done some research on here and people say you can use 245/70/16 with the stock rims and no lift. I would like to get a rim & tire package. Can you tellme what offset or backspacing I should be looking for with that tire?

Stock backspacing. 16x7 5" backspacing. Also 245/70 might rub still if its sagged bad

I'm running a Teraflex spacer lift on the KJ. Its been on for 50,000km now. No complaints.

OME should do the job perfectly for less.
