I'm just wondering why my front ground clearance to the engine skid plate is only about 6.5 inches? Currently have 235-70r16 tires with low tread so that might count for 1/2 inch but maybe my suspension has issues since isn't ground clearance supposed to be 9.5 inches? The clearance is the rest of the vehicle is a lot more. Thanks.

UPDATE: I read a review of a 2005 where they mention the drawback of having a 6.4 inch ground clearance to the front skid plate so maybe this is normal.

So, if that's the case, does anyone know of a quick way to raise the front? Maybe spacers in the front springs?

Huge NO on the use of spacers
More ground clearance you will need a full spring lift
Full OME lift with 790 front springs and 948 rear springs, solid 2.5 inches of lift

So, what are the downsides of the spacers? With the OME lift is it Just larger springs or does anything else have to be changed? Thanks.

Spacers in their design put extra stress on all front end parts , plus you are using them with worn out parts to begin with. OME springs used for gassers and CRDs are rated higher to provide better ride and lift
