Twice today, I got in my liberty, turned the key, and.... nothing. Then I put it in neutral, and it starts as nice as can be. Sometimes it starts fine. I can't find a neutral safety switch for it, is there something else I should be checking?

Sorry, wasn't thinking. It's an automatic.

The mystery deepens. I've noticed it won't start in park, once I've gotten the engine warmed up (although it still starts in neutral). Once I leave it alone for an hour, it starts again. If anybody has an idea, please chime in. I know cars gain more character as they age, but this quirk is more character than I want. :banghead:

Did you try the Neutral Safety Switch? I remember when my jeep was having intermittent starting issues, I read a few threads on a bad NSS will cause a no start in P while start in N works without issue. Just something to look into.

She's dead jim. Translation: The processor on the ecm is shot. I sent it to a place in Tilden, IL. Their exact words were: "Unfortunately we are not able to repair your module. The processor on the board has failed and that is not a repairable or replaceable component on this style of ECM."

So, once I get it back I'll contact Autocomputerexchange.com, which is what I should have done in the 1st place
(I did think of the neutral safety switch, but it sounds like that isn't the problem)

I have a dead PCM as well. I talked to auto computer exchange and they told me that they wouldn't sell me an PCM for my CRD. If this is incorrect let me know. But I've only found a new/rebuilt PCM for autozone and o'reilly autoparts stores. Would love to find a lifetime warranty and cheaper.
