Twice today, I got in my liberty, turned the key, and.... nothing. Then I put it in neutral, and it starts as nice as can be. Sometimes it starts fine. I can't find a neutral safety switch for it, is there something else I should be checking? |

Sorry, wasn't thinking. It's an automatic. |

The mystery deepens. I've noticed it won't start in park, once I've gotten the engine warmed up (although it still starts in neutral). Once I leave it alone for an hour, it starts again. If anybody has an idea, please chime in. I know cars gain more character as they age, but this quirk is more character than I want.

Did you try the Neutral Safety Switch? I remember when my jeep was having intermittent starting issues, I read a few threads on a bad NSS will cause a no start in P while start in N works without issue. Just something to look into. |

She's dead jim. Translation: The processor on the ecm is shot. I sent it to a place in Tilden, IL. Their exact words were: "Unfortunately we are not able to repair your module. The processor on the board has failed and that is not a repairable or replaceable component on this style of ECM." So, once I get it back I'll contact Autocomputerexchange.com, which is what I should have done in the 1st place (I did think of the neutral safety switch, but it sounds like that isn't the problem) |

I have a dead PCM as well. I talked to auto computer exchange and they told me that they wouldn't sell me an PCM for my CRD. If this is incorrect let me know. But I've only found a new/rebuilt PCM for autozone and o'reilly autoparts stores. Would love to find a lifetime warranty and cheaper. |
