All I'm trying to do is figure out how to remove the black plastic strip on the outside of the doors so I can paint them and reinstall them. Are they clipped on, do they use adhesive, or a combination of both, or something else? Google search didn't give me answers to this question, but did bring me a ton of links to these forums. Thanks in advance for the help!

Ok, after a tiny bit of investigation, it is two strips of double sided adhesive tape, but i didn't yet pull it back far enough to see if there are clips. I'll buy some replacement tape and keep you guys updated on my progress

I'd like to pull my 'chrome' pieces off and either find black strips, or figure out how to paint the 'chrome' to black.

I waited until it got hot outside and took a piece of 15 lb fishing line and "flossed" down the molding. Worked like a charm but it took a long time to remove all of the adhesive off the door.

FYI, some KK Euro side moldings that say "Cherokee" are available in the for sale section now.

It's held on by adhesive. I know, because my started to peel back. You can use double sided adhesive to place it back on. That's what I used. I have read that someone used gorilla glue....I'm not sure if the outcome on that.

Good luck !
