1. Does anyone know of a good code scanner that works for a 05 sport? And where is the diagnostic port located?

2. Were there 2 different t-cases available for the 05 gas libby?

3. What is the deal with the main cause of my check engine light coming on is an "evaporative emmissions leak"?

1. The diagnostic port is located on the driver side under the steering wheel. Kneel on the ground and look at the cover for the dash. It is right next to the center console.

2. The 2 cases are the NP231 (Command-Track) and the NP242 (Select-Track)

And the NP241, which is the command-trac for the 6-speed transmission, which is supposedly a stronger transfer case. I assume since you have a Limited, though, Dave, that you have an automatic, so that's not really relevant.

isn't the NV241 is the Rock-Trac transfer case used in the Rubicon?... the Command Trac HD is still NV231 with a letter designation at the end on the stamped label... but i can't remember what it is... on the nomal NV231 it reads "NV231J" on the stamp...

as far as i know the NV231 HD is referred as just that... HD... not a different model number...

#3 - if not gas cap, check out the small rubber hoses just infront of the gas tank and then follow the metal hoses they connect to up towards the engine area to find a couple more rubber hoses to check. Look for cracks or loose connections.

Found out the hard way hoses aren't covered under the aftermarket warranty. $84 at the dealership, a few dollars at the auto parts store.

Hey thanks for the help so far. All it says on the window sticker is that I have the HD t-case and that I do have the automatic. Is there a way to look at the t-case to tell? Also is there anygood code scanners?

There should be a brass tag bolted in plain sight to your T-Case to ID it.
On the rear section, driver's side.

I decided to go out and take a look and couldnt find any tags telling me which t-case i have on my 06...
I looked at the front and rear of the t-case...

I checked the Jeep.ca website and it says the Command-Trac HD Part-Time 4WD System is installed...
Anyone know which t-case that means is installed? I have a manual 6-speed tranny as well...

Thanks.
