Well I have noticed that lately the KJ seems to be really "busy" on the road. Lots of wondering around in the lane. It is almost like there is always strong winds hitting the side of the Jeep and keeping it wondering in the lane. Or is this a big symptom of the dreaded LBJ problem? While I am at it my cruise is really sluggish. It seems to take a bit after you hit resume or accelarate. Just wanting to know if anyone else is having these probs. It is a 04 3.7 with only 25k on it.

keep an eye on the wind to see when it is blowing. If it is not blowing, it could be the lbj, uneven tire wear or pressure, or it could be that you need an alignment.

I haven't noticed any issues with wondering around in the lanes. Are your tires abnormally wide or underinflated? Those two things really lend themselves to following the ruts in the roads. The only time I struggle with the Jeep is when I am towing a trailer or when there are very strong wind gusts.

how fast are you driving too....even the slightest breeze could knock a KJ around if your going fast enough...I used to experience that with mine when I would take I-40 into downtown Memphis, but I would cruise at about 75 the whole way....and as for the cruise control it does have a little lag in it when you hit the resume button when restarting the system but other then that it worked fine for me when I had it.

My KJ was blown all over the place from day one, wind really effects them. Now that I'm running 265/75R16 MT/R's they do like to follow all the grooves in the road,I'm running MOOG's lbg's and just had my alighnment checked, still was in specs.

My KJ can get a bit "busy" in the lanes from time to time. Check the tire pressure. I stupidly let mine get a bit low once and it was horrible. Truck wobbled all over the place.

Also keep mindful of the wind. I have a little kayaking dude on the top of my antenna, so he always lets me know which way the wind is blowing. Lets me know if it's the wind moving me around or the dreaded balljoints.

If in question, check them, or have them checked. Do not lose your joints while whippin' down the road at 70MPH! It's going to happen to someone before DC does something about it. Don't let it be you.

Yep, but that only comes on when there's a large difference between the pressure in the individual tires. All mine were low from the dealership. They were all at 28PSI, IIRC. Took 'em all up to 40 and haven't looked back. The stock tires handle a lot better, in my opinion, at higher pressures.

Mine isn't functional any more because I don't have the sensors mounted to the wheels. Even if I were to mount them, they would be damaged from constant airing down/up on the trails. I hear Wally went through three sets (at nearly $200/set from stealership) before he called it quit.

Thanks for all the responses. I am really thinking it could be the LBJ's causing the problem. It doesn't really matter if the wind is blowing or not. Plus I am very anal about keeping up with the tire pressure. I have always thought that the KJ was a little sensitive to the wind but have noticed an increase to the wondering the last couple months. I am more than a little pissed that so many LBJ's have been going out. I have never even actually wheeled the KJ. Just a few trips down dirt roads and stuff to go fishing and camping. Nothing that I would call really rough. Yeah had to use 4WD but that is because of things were just steep and on a dirt road. Oh well they will get checked this weekend for sure.
