What ever happened to the Gladiator concept? I would sure love to have one of those. I miss the cargo capacity of my Ram, but I love the Liberty. To put the two of them together would be my ultimate vehicle! Any thoughts, opinions, anecdotes or info? I'd love to hear 'em! |

You can always contact AEVand have them build you a Brute...that's where DC got the concept from AFAICT.... |

The Gladiator concept was actually built upon the same platform as the new 4 door Wrangler Unlimited. Out of all the concepts, this one has the greatest chace of seeing the light of day. I believe I also read that the DCX president or Jeep president really likes this concept and is pushing to see it put into production. Give the new Wrangler a year or two to ramp up and I bet you might just see another Jeep pickup. |

The Unlimited is also an AEV design...they've been building one-off LWB Wranglers for over seven years. "We’ve never had any concept vehicle besides the Viper get as much positive attention as the (AEV) Brute" – David Harrington, DaimlerChrysler Product Planning |

I'd love to have the Gladitor. I wish they'd put a second little door on the driver's side though, instead of that little access door. But, as long as they stick to their plans and make it diesel... benmar2000 wrote: If it does go into production... I will be the first inline to get it..
Ben ...I'll race ya Ben. Unless they come out with the diesel 4-door Wrangler first...might have to test drive that bad boy. |

Mine'll be a straight trade but given that the Gladiator is slated to have SFA/SRA w/lockers I'd imagine it (the Gladiator) to be the more 'trail rated'. We'll see though. I'm just prayin' they roll out a diesel model. |

It would be great if they put the diesel in it right away. That would put them in the books as the first to offer a diesel in a midsize truck in the US. Someone email some people at Jeep and DCX and tell them to look at this forum. Within 5 min I think they would say that this is a large enough sample group to warrant putting it into production. |

The only specs they ever talked about had the diesel in the Gladiator. They haven't even (publicly) discussed putting any other motor in it. They'd better put the diesel in it. If they don't, they'll lose at least one sale. dmc23, does the Build Vehicle computer in your showroom show engine type? |

I'm really glad there is so much positive feedback about the Gladiator. As much as I love my Liberty, I'd still love to have that pickup bed back. Thanks for all the feedback on this. I fear that if they phase out the Liberty, we as a group might become dinosaurs real quick |
