What is the trick to remove the flares? Do I need also to buy some replacement rivets or pins to put em back on?

you will need to buy replacement plastic rivets for attachingto the fender liners.

I popped mine off using a thick puddy knife (with an old rag between it and the paint)and pry away from the body, then I used one of those cheap combo wire strippers/crimps (the flat ones) and put them in the gap(with a rag against the body) and squeezed the plastic body pins so I could reuse them.

I have these and they don't seem to fit(to small) is there a trick to putting them in?

besides the rivets do you need anything else to hold the flare on?

The Flare actually is riveted on the body with the same type of rivets. I have thought about removing my flares to cut them a little bit, and actually using bolts to put them back on. That way, when I rub, I won't rip off my flares....

the plastic is thin on the inside of the flares the bolts would just stay connected to the body and rip out of the flare.

Try strapping a YJ with a hydrolocked clutch through some deep muddy ruts. Worked for me!

Those rivets do fit, they're just a pain without a rivet gun.

I have the rivet gun. I would totally send it to ya if you want to pay the shipping. Kind of a traveling tool that I would be hip to sharing with the lost community.

From the dent in your door it looks like you took the flare off the easy way.

You were able to successful reuse each of these clips? Do you know if you only need these type of rivets to hold the flares to the body if I took out my fender well linings? I basically want to know if I will have to replace any of the push-pin type rivets (on the inside of every flare) if I take out my fender well linings...
