Post subject:  it died for no reason

for some reason my liberty has died a few times for no reason.some think it might be the fuel filter.but i only have 30,000 miles on it and have rarely had it off road. any ideas---- -O wise councilers?

It would be rare for the extended life fuel filter to be clogged with that few miles. Can you give us some history on the vehicle? City versus highway driving? Idle time, etc., etc.? It would help diagnose a possible cause.

the majority of the driving time is around town. my work is about 7 minutes from my house through the neighborhood.

On my 02 I had the same problem and did have the fuel filter changed
it was on the gas tank.(not the problem) Had the plugs changed and it has not stopped since. when I would come to a stop it would just quit and would start right up and some time go for a while than just stop.
when was the last time you changed plugs
just a thought

i have had it for a year and a half and have not changed the plugs yet. have you used the irridium plugs?

Fella's, what about the Tech service Bulletin (TSB) that exist for this problem...Just a computer flash fix

My 02 has done it every 6 months since day one. I never bothered having it rectified.
