Post subject:  Manual transmission leak

So, earlier this year I had some clutch work done . Transmission was dry and leak-free at that point. After the work, I started noticing drips in the driveway..not immediately, but over the next several weeks it became apparent I had a leak. I've been able to narrow the source down to somewhere at the top of the transmission, in the general area of where the shifter attaches. I've checked bolts holding the top plate for the shifter to the transmission, and they're not loose. I can't really see any other area where it could be coming from...

Has anyone else had a leak in this area from their NV3550? Unfortunately, bringing it back to the shop that did the work isn't an option, as they have closed their doors. This is starting to get on my nerves (ruining my driveway and being a PITA to have to refill every xx months), so before I bring it to ANOTHER shop to undo the first one's mistake, I just want to be sure there's not a common/easy fix for this. I'm healing up from a broken rib, so I'm pretty limited in what I can do in the driveway on my back..

Thanks.

Welp, it was almost 50 degrees today, so I disconnected the exhaust and dropped the transmission/xfer case/crossmember down today. I popped the shifter tower off, cleaned the seal and the mating surface up, and reassembled. Fingers crossed for success. Much Advil needed tonight..
