My Google-fu is striking out today, so could use some help with tracking down a part number. This is for a 2005 KJ CRD Limited.

What I'm looking for is the door rod clip that goes between the door rod and rear of the door handle on the front passenger side. Mine broke yesterday in the process of replacing the speakers, and having a door that can only be opened from the outside has already become tedious.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

If it's what I think you're talking about, you should be able to find them at any auto parts place with HELP or Dorman or other similar line of misc generic gadgetry. They come in various sizes, left and right handed, etc so it really helps if you take your old broken one with you.

Understood. But I've reassembled the door panel, and left the clip in place so don't have it for reference. Right now, though, I'm down sick so would just rather order it and have it get here when I'm actually up to installing it rather than pulling the door apart again.

Is this the one you are looking for? Google this OEM part number: 04658677
or
go here:> https://www.factorychryslerparts.com/pr ... 58677.html

Most part stores should have a clip that will suffice, it is a fairly standard part in the "Help" line!

Close - I think it might be this one (part no. 04658676):

https://www.factorychryslerparts.com/pr ... 58676.html

That one's for the RH side front door; the one you posted is for the LH side front. It was close enough to get me there, though.

Weirdly enough, I had searched that same site earlier and didn't turn up results that were specific enough to get me anything I was confident in ordering. Maybe it's the 'flu meds; either way, the pointer is appreciated.

Late edit: nope, wait - those are the clips for the door lock, not the handle. Found more-useful images than I had previously; doing some digging.

I believe left & right are one in the same?

No firm idea, but from having been in there yesterday I can say that the RH side clip was white whereas the LH side clip was black. May be a non-issue; may be indicative of a difference.

Either way, the door lock is fine; it's the clip from the latch rod to the handle I'm having difficulty finding. I'll call the dealer in the morning and see what they have to say.

Usually that stuff is mirror image, but sometimes there is room to make the wrong one serviceable.

Wasn't in your original post. Must be a new spamming technique - join a forum, quote random posts, and insert spam links into the quote. (they have a post count of '1' and it says below their username that they joined 6 minutes before posting that)

Thanks, I see that now. I just didn't want folks thinking it was coming from me.
