I would like to install a 02 ARB bumper on to my 05 Liberty. Only reason I would want the 02 bumper is because I think it looks better, specifically the turn signals and fog lights. I do however have a 02 Liberty that is the same color as my 05 that I can take parts from.

I'm guessing the parts I would need to move from one jeep to the other is:
Header Pannel
Grille
Fenders
Fog Lights (and wiring, 05 already has fog lights)
Turn Signals (and wiring)

The only issue is the fender flares, I cannot simply install the 02 fenders on to the 05 because where the fender flare meets the rocker panel they are drastically different between the two. My concern is that the 05 fender flares do not come down far enough to "sit" on top of the bumper, leaving a large gap. This is where yoiu would normally cut off the extra on an 02. (Step 6 of the 02 ARB install instructions)

After spending about a hour comparing pictures of 02 and 05 Libertys, it is my belief that the difference in the fenders and fender flares make this not feasable due to the differences in the fender flares where they meet the rocker panels. Next time when I am back at the farm, I will do some measuring to confirm.

I am interested to know if anyone has tried this yet?

I was wondering what the difference is between the 2 years. I see new ARB bumpers for 05-07 but I have an 02 and am considering bumpers front and rear. I thought 02-07 were the same.

Doesn't look good at all with different shaped grills etc

hey tom ill have to look around for it but I have a pic of an 05 KJ with an 02 ARB and it looks bad and not in a good way, its also stock.
