Post subject:  New features ....?

Did I just stumble on these?

I have an 05 and noticed, what I think is a feature I didn't read about in the manual. I had the key partially out of the ignition , you know..so that I could open the door w/o the door chime going off, and I was able to raise and lower the windows. I thought I had to have the ignition on to do that.

I learned of another one today while at Ace. I pulled into the parking lot, turned off the ignition, pulled the key out and poped the rear glass open with the fob while still inside. I put the key in my pocket and walked around to the back and got my stuff out. I decided to leave the glass open while I run into the Ace. As I walked away the panic alarm went off. I went back towards the Jeep and the panic alarm turned back off. I then closed the glass and went into the Ace w/o the panc alarm going off.

Whats up wid dat ...... anyone else know about these features???

I know if you remain in your jeep and remove the key from the ignition and without opening any doors you can roll up or down every window in the KJ for up to 30 seconds i think, maybe more...

What's unfortunate with that design is that it waits for any door, not just the drivers door. So if you stop and shut off the jeep, if your passenger gets trigger happy with the door handle while you are rolling up windows/closing sunroof, you have to put the key back into accessory to finish. It would have been nice for that to be driver-controlled.

I have no idea why the panic alarm went off, I have left my flipper glass open plenty of times with no problem. I don't know if I've tried to remote-lock the jeep with the flipper glass open, however...

That power window delay thing only came out for the 05 and 06 models though, the rest of us either have to put the windows up before we shut the engine off or use the accesory position for the key.

Nope, works on my 04 also. I wish the radio did that also, like in the chevys. They dont have a time limit, its only until someone opens the door, which is even better than ours.

I stand corrected then. It must have started sometime during the 04 model year then. My 03 doesn't have that nifty feature.

My 03 does not have that delay either. I have to do the deed of closing windows before it kill the engin
