Hello all, I recently installed new rotors and pads but when I attempted to bleed the Jeep (2007 Liberty Sport) brake fluid would only come out on the first cycle of pumping a few times and cracking open the bleeder valve. I started with the rear passenger side, had someone pump the pedal a few times, hold the pedal down on the last pump, then I opened the valve, a normal amount of fluid came out, closed, and repeated the process. Every time after that first attempt only a drop or two of fluid would come out, literally. I switched to the driver side rear and no fluid would come out. The front was bleeder was seized so I called it a day and drove around with soft brakes for a few minutes and then they returned to normal firmness.

That was a few weeks ago. Tried again today and it was the same story - good first cycle then only a drop or two. Fluid level in the reservoir is kept just below max.

I searched through the previous threads on bleeding issues and came across proportioning valve issues, but it didn't seem quite the same as what I am experiencing. Any advice?

If anyone is interested, I wound up purchasing a bleeder kit to draw out the brake fluid instead of push it through and it worked.
