New Chamberlain unit, belt drive, wifi... works great.

But Homelink from a 2006 wont program.
It seems that the new openers use version 2.0, and they didn't include backwards compatibility with many vehicles before 2010-2013 depending on model.
Some people are claiming 2015 model year of some popular cars wont work.

I was told to get a compatibility bridge to translate between the Homelink and the Chamberlain opener.
Chamberlain makes the bridge and sells it at an additional cost.
The bridge also cuts out the new security features of the rolling codes, so I'm also back to early 2000's standard.

I can use the remote that came with the door, but remotes do get stolen.

I was told to look for an updated Homelink module for the vehicle.
I can't locate any info on an updated module, so I assume it's a bogus suggestion and one doesn't exist.

Anyone have experience with an updated Homelink module for a 2006 CRD?

My 2005 CRD programed just fine to my Overhead Door brand garage door opener which I installed back in 94 when our house was built.
My daughter just recently bought a home that was built in 05 and it would not program to my Jeep. :(

We recently installed a new garage door, which includes some additional security features that I think will at least slow down the criminals. Initially, the door is insulated and somewhat thick. Second, all of the windows are tempered glass. Advantage Garage Doors Calgary doors also include outstanding features such as keyless access and remote access. I can open and lock it remotely from anywhere on the planet. These elements do not make the door challenging to open because all doors will open if you try long enough, but they buy us some time.
