I have an 05 and when it was new I tried to "top it off" after the pump handle clicked off and I guess the jeep didn't like that. The gauge reading stayed where it was before I put gas in it...... I pulled over and shut it off and waited 30 seconds or so and started it up again thinking it might reset or something. It finally worked it's way up to full but slowly. It did it one other time when I tried to top off. I don't do that anymore and it has been working fine.

This might be a little different than what you are describing but that is what mine did. I thought I would tell you this in case they are somehow related.

My 05 with 20k has a similar problem, unless I fill it all the way, the gauge stays where it was and takes maybe 20 minutes before reading correctly. It doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it yet.

My 05's gauge reacts slowly on a fill up but seems to be more or less accurate ( does seem to go down a bit faster in the first half of the tank).
