And come across this Ford F-350 Powerstroke Diesel and it's high centered on the side of the road, with his 2 right tires completely buried in mud. I pull up in front of him and stop, my Jeep barely bigger than the cab of his truck it looks like. I carry a strap at all times, mostly for someone to pull me out of an idiotic situation. I go ask him if he's stuck (dumb question), and he says "Yeah, been trying to get out of here for an hour now" I say 'Well, I have a strap...'. He laughs, "You think you can pull me outta here with THAT thing??" I said I dunno, but we'll give'er a go. I had left my hitch hook at home, so I pulled in front of his truck and used my front tow hooks. One end of the strap on my left tow hook, then wrapped around his tow loop, then back to my right tow hook.
I get back in, and I have my wife in the jeep, she says 'WHAT are you DOING??'.. Just hold on I said. I put it in reverse, slowly till the strap was taught, then gave it some gas. Engines rev, some jerky movements, tires chirping slightly, my wife says STOP STOP HE'S GONNA HIT US (He wasn't
). I stopped, get out and there is the truck, fully on the road now. I started removing the strap, he jumped out and handed me a $20 which I tried to refuse, it only took about 5 minutes.
As we both started to climb back into our vehicles, he yelled out "DONCHOO TELL ANYONE ABOUT PULLIN ME OUT WITH THAT JEEP!!" and laughs. I laugh, and we both drive away smiling.
Thought you fellow Liberty owners would appreciate that : )
