Does this sound like a fan switch problem? or something else?

The fan/AC/Heater switch stops working on setting #2. 1, 3 and 4 all work fine but the fan turns off at setting 2.

Thanks for any info

Blower Motor Resistor bad. The Resistor controls the voltage going to the blower motor to make it run faster or slower.

A lot of Liberty owners use the pre-2005 Sebring resistor pack....exact fit but a much larger cooling area to stop it from burning out.

We never had the Sebring here in SA so if my 2002 Export CRD blows the resistor pack I would probably have to buy from the Dealers or order one from overseas. :?

That was it, I have all fan speeds again.

That lower nut is a PITA to remove and reinstall. I had to dremmel out a notch in a plastic bracket that was blocking access to the nut. It seems like everything on this Jeep is a PITA to service. Always something unrelated blocking full access to the fasteners. :furious:

Great, glad that fixed it!

Darn engineers don't design them to be worked on! :

Just think, if you owned a Ford Super Duty Power Stroke, you have to pull the whole cab completely off the frame just to work on the darn engine.
Talk about a real poor design! Very reason why I don't own or drive anything with Ford on it.
