I have been fighting alternator problems for 4-6 weeks. Finally, after new alternator, battery, cables, I threw in the towel and took it to a mechanic. He says I need a new PCM. I have a spare '04 parts Jeep Liberty. Can I take the PCM from it and install or does it need flashed with the VIN at the dealer?

You will likely need to have your vin flashed onto the pcm.

Just ordered a new PCM from carcomputerexchange.com ... comes flashed with my VIN. $218 shipped to my door in 3 days.

My buddy might need a new PCM as well for his incoming Liberty project. We'll work on it right after we finished installation of the new suspension, tire and wheel packages and headache rack on the current truck project. We'll check them out for the new PCM.
