06 Liberty CRD. Stalls out when driving normally, after it warms up. Starts right back up, drives for a mile or so, stalls. Starts up. Replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor, has the stage 2 EGR delete, just changed the timing belt, replaced the broken air hose to turbo that was cracked, but it did the stalling thing before all this. Replaced fuel filter. No odd codes. It had some egr stuff prior to the delete, and a couple glow plugs needed replaced, but that was it. What else could be the cause of it stalling, but starting right back up and drives fine otherwise. Do I need to do the relearn procedure for the cps to get it to stop stalling? |

Do you have a lift pump? When it stalls, have you tried pumping up and bleeding the fuel filter? Could be a defective CPS that you installed? They crap out when going through the heat up cycle. Camshaft position sensor? You got to figure out if it is fuel related or electrical. Do any codes reveal any clues? |

So a few codes come up. P1186 Low Fuel Pressure P0093 Large Fuel System Leak U0121 Lost communication with ABS U0146 something about Lost communication with gateway A ? and of course all the codes for when you delete the EGR And I replaced the glow plugs and now get all the p0671-2-3-4 No lift pump on this one. I do have one in another wrecked jeep I can move over if I need to. So would the Low fuel pressure and Large Fuel system leak make it just shut down when warm? I do tend to see it happen when you press the accelerator. Then it starts back up. It might crank for 4-5 seconds but it starts up and runs fine, till it dies in a random time frame. |

These are key: Quote: P1186 Low Fuel Pressure P0093 Large Fuel System Leak Your CP3 is starving for fuel on the suction side when under load. Install an intank fuel pump, it will solve your problem. |

Yeah, I had another jeep with a lift pump, so swapped the tanks and harness. When I took out the other tank, looked like they had recently done work to, not sure what though, and the return line was smashed between the top of the tank and the body. Swapping tanks fixed the issue though. The prior owner said it ran fine till they took it in for service, and it didn't run when they got it back, so I'm guessing that line cut off to the return might have been part of the issue. |

You should pull the fuel pump module out of the tank you removed and inspect it. Don't believe return line would have anything to do with low fuel pressure to the CP3 injection pump. |

The one that had the problem and the smashed return line didn't have a lift pump. Just the sending unit. My next problem is the esp/abs/traction control lights on. I replaced all four sensors and the two front ones were covered in white Grease. Why would there be Grease on both? Clean white grease. And now I'm still getting the low fuel pressure code, even with the lift pump working. |
