 Post subject: tranny problem or not?

i just bought a 2003 jeep libert less than 3 months ago...love it except now it seems to downshift hard at about 30 mph.....anyone else had that problem? it has 46,000 miles on it :roll:

Have you had the oil changed anytime lately? Sometimes when the oil is changed they will shift hard. May need to unplug the battery and reset the computer or take it to the dealer and get the tranny reprogramed.

If youve not changed the oil, Id say it needs it.

not sure about oil..havent disconnected battery yet..i did want to clearify that when i say shifts hard it feels kind of like i went over a bump at that precise moment

So the jeep jumps(forward) or feels like it goes over a bump(goes up).

kind of jerks ....all other gears smooth...only happens when slowing down and hits about 30 mph and it doesnt do it when od off

This happened after my tranny service.....give it some time and some daily driving and it should smooth back out in 7-10 days....at least ours did.

I had the tranny in my 03 serviced and it did that when I got it back. I had the tech drive with me to verify it, then they reprogrammed it. It's been fine since.
