Aamco lifetime transmission flush?

Post subject:  Aamco lifetime transmission flush?
I heard a commercial yesterday from Aamco for a lifetime transmission flush. From what I heard, for a one time $99 fee they will powerflush your transmission once a year for the life of your vehicle (non-transferrable). Anyone hear about this or signed up for it yet? Sounds like a great deal for those of us who off-road and require more frequent changes than standard use vehicles.

One thing, if you listen to the ad closely, it says something about they will do this, as long as your trannie is in perfect condition. So when they get it and put it on their computer, and it shows any error message or anything out of parameter, they will not do the flush, until the problem is corrected.
So in effect, I am looking at this, like other repair places and dealerships do, in which they give you a good price on an oil change, which always includes checking underneath the car, where of course, they will then tell you, about a half a dozen safety repairs your car needs, such as brakes, somethings leaking and any bogus thing they can find.
So I see this flush, as a thing, where they want to get their hands on your car, and get other work instigated on the vehicle. Just my opinion.
Also, some manufacturers do not recommend power flushes on , so be carefull on this.

This could still be a good thing just clear all the codes by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to clear codes. One big question to ask is are they going to use ATF+4 fluid. If they don't use ATF+4 fluid any factory warranty you have maybe voided.

I haven't used the service personally, but I do know that my parents used it on their older GMC Jimmy. The catch they had was that they couldn't be late on it by even one day or the service would be discontinued. It wasn't bad though. They did a really good job and caught a lot of minor problems before they became major issues.

I've always heard they don't use the factory recommended tranny fluid, and go with what they want to, therefore screwing up your tranny. Never have been there, but thats what I've heard.
