I have seen a few people with "Detour Backbone". What is this? Also I have seen a few people with High Lift Jacks, what is the advantage to having this in town or on the trail? Thanks in advance.

The Detours Backbone is a part that, after installed, allows you to install a winch on an otherwise stock KJ front bumper.

The High-Lift jack lifts things really high. :) Seriously, it can be used to push, pull, and clamp items as well. No real use around town, but very helpful on the trail.

Detour Backbone..go to the Vendors page and look at Detours they make a winch mounting plate for the KJ shows some good pics on the website

Highlift jacks come in either 48 or 60 inch heighths they are useful for lifting/ pulling although very slow. But you really need some lift point to use one on a stock KJ they would be useless I think, you could use the receiver hitch as a lift point , rock rails if you open the door first so you dont ding up the sheet metal, The ARB bumpers have slots in them for the high lift, its one of those things that you may wheel for 20 years and never need it but then one day....I have one that I used on the farm in the 70s but its still down in the barn and I never carry it :?

Oh great, I had to ask. Now another thing is added to the Jeep wish list. Maybe tax returns this year. :D Thank you for the quick and insightful responses.
