$72.14+ shipping or tax (see below)

UPDATED 6/23 AT NOON:
The Aluminum PN is 8A309. Cost is $72.14. This is the price to get it to Long Island. When you call, you'll get the shipping cost for John to resend it to you. He said between $5-10 depending on your area. Sales tax added only for NY, NJ, CT residents.

WE ALL NEED TO BUY THE ALUMINUM to get this price. If you want to save the $5 for the steel, I'm assuming you're out of the group buy since it throws off our price. Based on all data and nominal price increase, I'm changing the group buy to the aluminum part. I hope this is ok for everyone.

I called a local NY Stafford dealer and he can get the parts with ID of 3 9/16" for $67.50 each with a minumum order of 10. (Or, $75 each for 3-9 orders. Retail is $112 for one.) He'll even ship them each directly to your respective addresses for additional shipping charges. We'll simply each fax or call John with the order info and our personal credit cards. I guess we should establish a list here, and a cutoff date, and then tell everyone to do their own faxing once we hit 10.

The shop is in Farmingdale, NY here on Long Island. The contact there is John. The order info is filed under my name, Adam Rosenfeld.

The steel black oxide part is Stafford PN 8L309. (UPDATE: we're not buying this one.)

bthomas too!

W/o looking at the past thread(s), does this collar fit on it's inside surface so no additional metal removal is necessary?

Please read the past threads.

... but the answer is YES.

When we get 10, we can all decide how long to keep it open. Please note that this takes 3 weeks to got according to John. Sorry that I forgot to mention that before.

I am in for one also...do I have to wear a tie with the collar?

Thai on the collar? Try to get that out with a napkin and club soda.

Thx, yes I read the threads as soon as I hit the submit. As far as an ordering date, I'll pitch for ASAP. I'd be really happy to have one by the KJWest Big Bear event 7/21, for the John Bull Trail.

Does that price include shipping? or would that be an extra cost?

Plus shipping depending on your address. I think he's having htem sent directly to us, so I'm not sure where they're coming from.

They are $112.60 each. $75 each for 3-9, less 10% or $67.50 for 10 or more.

Given that it takes 3 weeks to get, as soon as we hit 10 orders, I'm going to call John and tell him we're ready and make sure he's ready to handle the orders. I think he just wants faxes, so I'll verify that. I'll tell him to call it the "LOST group buy."

When we hit 10, I'll call him and post back here with exact ordering instructions.

I am in then. Just let us know when everything is ready. Can you tell him some of us would prefer to call then to send our credit card numbers over a fax machine?

At least I am more comfortable calling over faxing.

Are these collars aluminum or steel? If they are alloy, I may be in for another. Even though I rubber coated mine, I don't like the thought of electrolosys due to dis-similar metals.

I'll call in with my credit card info. Yes I guess I'm number 10 then?

The movie is "Escape from New York", Kurt Russell. Didn't think Kurt was right for the part --- he looked too "small" compared to the muscle-bound stars of his period.

Here.....

"Electrolytic Corrosion (Electrolysis) occurs when dissimilar metals are in contact in the presence of anelectrolyte, such as water (moisture) containing very small amounts of acid. The dissimilar metals set up a galvanic action that results in the deterioration of one of them. "

If you put steel on your aluminum diff, put some thin rubber between the two, or use a rubberized coating as corrosion inhibitive.
