Hi, I've been looking for a deal on some Moab wheels for my KJ (like everyone else) and I'm not sure but it seems like there are maybe 2 different finishes?? It could just be the pictures fooling my eyes but I'm seeing what looks like a silver paint and clear coat finish on some and on others a polished or machined aluminum w/clear coat look.

I've only seen the silver painted finish up close in person and never the other which leads me to believe it's just funky pictures but can anyone confirm this one way or the other??

The are just wheels off a rubicon, getting a used set with tires I think is usually around 400-800 depending on who is selling and what condition they are in. I have personally only seen one type of finish, except for a post I saw on here where someone had them sent out to be Powder Coated...

There are more that 2 styles.

The '03 version - from the first Rubicon model year - are polished aluminum.

The '04 version is painted aluminum (silver), same shape as '03

'05 and up they changed the style of the rim just a little, but only noticable when they are next to each other.

I have a set of '03s on my '03 rubicon and a set of '04s on my KJ. The '03 ones were nicer in my opinion. no paint to chip.

I have seen a set of MOAB's that were silver with grey in the cutout areas. It looked really cool.

Like the two listed above and there were special edition ones like what came on my Rubi Unlimited Sahara Package these were Silver outers with Gun Metal Gray like the Renegade color in the triangle cut outs.

Later,
Dan
