Found this great company that makes custom springs, emailed them for a quote on front and rear springs for my KJ with 2.75" more lift than stock and 50% stiffer than stock.Today I got back my quote and the priced them at $186.75 for both front coils and $168.20 for the rears, not bad for custom coils.I called them and they will make them any stiffness and length you want, and they do go off of factory specs.I hate spacer lifts(think they defeat the purpose of a lift, more height but the same travel as stock)and no full length coil lifts will support my ARB bumber with the winch,so after I move I'll be ordering these custom coils and will let everyone Know how they workout. The web site is www.coilspring.com (don't know how to do the link thing yet, sorry) or you can call (785)437-2025.

Good work!!!!

The last quote I got was for $400, for the rear (6 inch lift). Wow I will contact them and see what they say! The LJ springs just ain't cutting it!

Just a point of info. Look into getting OME front shocks for lifted KJ's due to the fact that the stock ones are not going to work with 2.75 inch springs.

Its best to get new front shocks. Rancho or ome will do just fine. You can get them from All J's, ome being the more expensive one.

I understand that, but will i need longer shocks/ struts? And what about the strength and length of coil, how do I figure that out???

Since they make the coils how long you want them you can get factory length, but stiffer or what I'm doing getting longer coils so I don't have to run spacers to have HD coils(like in the frankinlift).I already have a full coil lift so I do not need longer struts because I allready have them, just need the HD longer coils.SkyJacker is the only one that I know of that have the longer coils, and that's what I want,no spacer(it totally defeats lifting and getting the articulation with it,stock lenght coils=stock articulation no matter how much spacers you add).

If you are allready lifted replacing the coils with longer ones means you can get rid of the spacer you probally have in there, and if you are lifted allready you have the longer struts if you don't have the spacer only lift like daystar. On the web site the quote you fill out asks the % over stock you want the spring rate to be and if you want them HD.When I called them they said when I order them I can talk to the tech going to make them and tell him the wieght of my KJ and how I plan on using it to make me the right springs for me.

Dont have the lift yet, but was going to buy a Frankenlift... now I dont know what to do. Since the CRD FL utilizes the stock springs. I was just wondering if these custom springs would bring me up so I dont have to do much trimming and pinch weld pounding etc. Cuz I would really like some 265's under there :)

Well running 265's you will need alot of trimming if you want to offroad it hard. The whole point(not blamming anybody but myself)of this was to inform everyone that you can get custom springs made to order for what you want(HxL and spring rate). The Frankinlift is a great lift but I personally want full coils, and I could not do that with the Frankinlift w/HD springs. The coils I'm getting are full lift coils(no spacer needed) so you would have to get longer struts and the matching rear coils and longer new shocks which could be more pricey due to you are piecing toghether a lift rather then buying a kit. It's your choice 0311_DoC,it's all in what you want and can afford, this is my route and not everyone will be able to do the same thing but some can if they want to.

265/what?

I have 265/70s and completely stuffed, I barely rub at all...

This stuffed...

rubbed this much...

That's not really a whole lot. I had a 2.5" BDS lift which seems to sit shorter than the Frankenlift that DaveKJ02 has. (he's the silver libby in the back)

I apprecite the words of wisdom, just trying to explore my options for what I would like to have on my KJ. Its just sad there are so few options, unless you refab the undercarriage for a SFA setup.
